Conditions

Thank you everyone for one of the most memorable ice climbing seasons in our history. Despite a slow opening in December, temps got cold, stayed cold and the ice came in huge!! The Ouray Ice Park officially closed April 14th, 2008. We can't wait to see you next year!! Please remember that climbing in closed areas in the Park is strictly prohibited.

We had an outstanding fundraising year and after 14 years of operation finally have an office at the Ice Park. Stop by and say hello next winter. We'll look forward to seeing you then.

Now is a great time to visit Ouray and climb on the "POOL WALL" on your way out to Indian Creek.

NEW ROUTES

Ouray Ice Park:

This spring we will start construction of the new "GOT STUMP" area that will be directly across from the Five Fingers area in the lower gorge. The new area should offer outstanding early season ice and great mixed climbing. The Ouray Trails Group will be working on establishing a new trail into this area this summer. We will be installing plumbing and new showerheads that will create 12 new climbs by next December. Another great expansion.
