Ice Park Map

The Best of the Best (by Jason Nelson)

Best Beginner Areas: Schoolroom, South park, New Funtier
Best Hard Ice: Lead Only Area, Lower Bridge
Best Mixed Areas: The upper Portion of the Alcove, The Lead Only Area, The Lower Bridge Area, Scottish Gullies
Best Place to show off your shiny new gear: Walk a loop around the ice park between the two bridges and make sure to take a detour up by the Alcove, those folks will definitely want to see you strut your gear. Be careful not to trip with your new crampons, as this will not make you look cool. Don't bother climbing anything as nobody will see you down in the gorge anyway. Oh yes, don't forget to wear you gear in the local shops and restaurants, and yes, that means your helmet too. You can never be too safe!
Most Sun in the Park: Shithouse Wall, Gazebo Wall, Mixed Alcove, and Lower Bridge Area in that order.

My Favorite Mixed Climbs (in order of difficulty)
Salsa Lisa (M7-), Five Fingers Area, bomber pick placements in a crack with a thin finish. Bolt Protected.
Tick Tac (M7), Lower Bridge Area, classic for the grade and well worn pick placements, can be much harder when overloaded.
Dizzy with a Vision (M7+), Scottish Gullies, Great Position, if you're under 6' climb to the left around the arete after the traverse by some old pins and don't fall.
Water Torture (M8), Scottish Gullies, Make sure there's some ice on the top or the finish will be very hard.
House of Flying Daggers (M9), Shithouse Wall, Begin on ice, climb overhanging rock (bolt protected) and finish on hanging ice daggers.
Runner Ups: Jesus Built My Finger Crack (M7+), Super Dave (M7+)
