Local volunteers worked hard this past summer making many improvements at the Ice Park.

For 2008 we:

  • Restored the POWDERHOUSE so that our ice makers would have a dry place to work
  • Continued to pursue the acquisition and purchase of the USFS lands surrounding the park.
  • Added the Sue Nott / Karen McNeil memorial and the new kids and beginner area with12 top-ropable beginner routes.
  • Built a new welcome center/office at the Ouray Ice Park High Bridge
  • Built a new and amazing viewing stand at the Ice Park Low Bridge
  • Made numerous financial contributions to local groups such as the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department, Boy Scouts Troop #503, Ouray Mountain Rescue Team and the Ouray High Schools Junior Class.
